Pearl Inlay.

A stunning and extremely rare pair of tole canisters

These were used to import tea from the orient during the 19th Century.

These particular ones have been overlaid with mother of Pearl to create these beautiful scenes.

They feature castles and have a distinctly Chinese look to them so I image they were done in China to represent English country houses but having never actually seen such a house this is the charming result.

The are a dramatic size and totally untouched or restored. They have no lids .

These are quite often made into lamp bases but thankfully these have not been touched so have no holes in them.

Quite nice condition for the age with a little loss of the inlay in places and wear to the painted surface as you may expect.

Each one stands at 39 cm high and 26 cm diameter approx

We will send these via a courier as I don’t wish to post them
