ANTIQUE PERSIAN SHIRAZ RUG CIRCA 1900.

A superb example with lovely wear consistent with age. Hand knotted in wool and made around 1900 in the area around Shiraz by nomadic tribes. These traditional designs are handed down from generation to generation and usally woven by the women of the tribe. 

Good overall condition, wear to the fringes as would be expected.

Made around 1900 this rug is a superb work of art that will be a fabulous addition to a room.

The colours are all made with natural plant dyes and this gives a wonderful soft colour to the rug.

A classic rug that will add interest and warmth to a room as well as being a unique hand made work of art.
