19th Century large blue and white Chinese “Happiness” ginger jar lamp base.

A lovely example of these highly prized ginger jars. This one features the “ double happiness “ symbol and these jars were often given as wedding presents.

This jar has been used as a lamp which is a great idea. It has the remains of the fixtures on the top and in the side where the jar has been drilled. This would need a quick update with a new bulb holder and flex.

Good overall condition with no damage, Green baize fabric to the base.

Measures 26 cm high x 20 cm diameter approximately.
