Hansen was a student of Ejnar Nielsen a Danish painter and illustrator who was a central proponent of symbolist painting in Danish art. Well known for his mosaic at the Royal Danish theatre .

You can clearly see his influence on his student and this is a well executed painting in the style of his teacher.

Painted on canvas early 20th century.

Framed in a wooden more contemporary frame which compliments the subject well.
