19th Century Polychrome crucifix.
A continental crucifix possibly French. Beautifully hand carved in pine with a gesso and painted polychrome finish.
The figure has been mounted on a later wooden cross. The carved figure itself dates from the 19th Century or earlier.
In very nice condition for its age, there is one piece of golden carving missing from the figures head. All in all a beautiful crucifix of a good size.
