Vintage Indian Folk Art Carved Wooden Horse Sculpture Primitive 24cm

A wonderfully characterful vintage carved wooden horse, probably Indian folk art.

The recumbent horse is carved from a dense dark wood and decorated with incised harness details and geometric patterns. It has a beautifully worn surface with warm reddish-brown tones showing through.

The two holes on top of the head appear to have originally held separate ears, which are now missing. There are also various knocks, marks, small chips and areas of wear consistent with age and use. Please study the photographs carefully, as these all form part of its rustic character.

A striking decorative object with plenty of presence.

Measures approximately 24 cm long.
