A pair of Gorham & Co Candlesticks.

A beautiful pair of candlesticks from this high quality American silver smith. They are made in silver plate and marked for 1903.

The Gorham Manufacturing Company was one of the largest  American manufacturers of sterling and silverplate and a foundry for bronze sculpture. Founded in Providence, Rhode Island, 1831 by Jabez Gorham, a master craftsman, in partnership with Henry L. Webster. The White House has used Gorham silver services during many administrations.

Classic Georgian styling that will look amazing in any room. Classic adam style with corinthian column capital set upon a stepped base adorned with rams heads and acanthus leaves.

They are in lovely condition. The top of one candlestick does have a slight lean to one side that we assume was created during the manufacturing process. It isn’t particularly noticeable and is reflected in the price on this pair. It’s very rare to find such a lovely pair together after over 100 years.

All in all a fabulous pair of candlesticks that will grace and room for years to come.

Measures 27 cm high x 10 cm square at the base.
