A stunning original 1930s Art Deco vanity accessory, crafted from glossy black Bakelite and warm amber Catalin. This elegant piece was most likely designed as a lipstick or compact holder and features a bold stepped design inlaid with original rhinestones in diagonal bands across the top.

Made using early plastics popular in the Art Deco era, the black section is classic Bakelite, while the translucent orange section is Catalin – a cast form of Bakelite known for its marbled colour and glowing depth. A true collector’s piece and a rare survivor from the golden age of Deco glamour.

Condition: Good vintage condition with minor surface wear and some darkening to a few rhinestones as expected with age. No cracks or major damage.
