A fabulous large Louis Philippe over mantle mirror with decorative border.

Dating from the latter 19th Century with the original plate in good condition some foxing to the outer edges.

Some loss to the gesso around the corners which adds to the authenticity of the frame. This could be restored but we love the slightly faded grandeur of the piece.

Wooden framed with moulded border and gesso / boule finish. Painted , brushed finish with some gilding showing.

All in all an excellent mirror with loads of charm and a beautiful faded country house look.
