Antique silver plated Corinthian column lamp base Elkington & Co.
Adam style silver plated electrified lamp base.
The lamp in the form of a Corinthian column. The well detailed capital rests on a fluted column, tapering outward and downward to a ringed and waisted socle. The column standing on a concave and stepped plinth, decorated with rams heads, laurel swags, and overlapping leaves.
The lamp has been set into an oak plinth especially created by hand but could easily be used without this if you prefer.
Marks for Elkington circa 1866/1897
Overall very nice condition with little loss of plate. The on off switch under the bulb holder needs replacing. The lamp is pat tested and ready for use. Some scratches to the silver plate around the base.
Stands at 36 cm tall x 11.5 cm square at the base
Wooden base measures 15 cm square
