A Late Ming Dynasty Chinese Ginger Jar.
A lovely Blue and White glaze Stoneware Chinese ginger jar very nice condition but no lid.
The jar dates from around the late Ming Period (c1630) and is decorated with a coastal scene. Featuring mountains and a man fishing from the shore.These ginger jars were used to carry spices and their shape and strength means that they often survive in reasonable condition. Glazed to the inside as well as outside. A great decorative piece.
Measures 15 cm high x 17 cm diameter.
