Painter and teacher, husband of the painter Norma Thomas, born in Fochriw, near Merthyr Tydfil, south Wales. He studied art and architecture at Cardiff School of Art, Welsh School of Architecture, University College of Cardiff, Goldsmiths’ College School of Art and at Hornsey. After World War II service he continued teaching, being finally head of the art department at Christ’s College, in London. He held over a dozen one-man shows in England and Wales, having a retrospective at Blaenporth Gallery, his own studio and gallery, in 1976. Completed heraldic design and paintings in a number of public buildings and galleries, as well as illumination and works for local authorities in Britain and abroad.
